45 CFD firms publish an EA policy: 21 allow them outright, 21 attach conditions, 3 ban them. Most conditions target one thing — a bot you did not write. PipFarm allows EAs but bans purchased marketplace bots; Hantec Trader bans grid EAs. Read the exception under each firm, not just the verdict.

When hundreds of traders run the same bot, the firm carries the same trade many times over. Firms treat marketplace bots as strategy sharing rather than as your own trading, which is why a firm can allow EAs and still ban a bot you bought.
At firms that allow EAs, yes. The usual requirement is that the strategy is your own and is not exploiting execution — latency, slippage or pricing errors. Firms that ban HFT bots still generally permit a self-written EA that trades normally.
A grid EA opens layered positions at fixed intervals and averages into losses. It can look profitable for a long time and then lose the account in one move, so some firms permit EAs in general but exclude grid and martingale logic specifically.
