The full story

SurgeTrader was a Florida-based prop firm founded in 2021 by Jana Seaman, known for its one-step "Audition" challenges with funded accounts advertised up to $1 million. Its end came from losing trading platforms twice in four months: the early-2024 MetaTrader crackdown pushed it onto a replacement platform, and in April 2024 that provider terminated its license too, citing unfulfilled contractual obligations, effective June 30.

Rather than reach that date, SurgeTrader announced on May 24, 2024 that it had "closed and ceased all operations" the same day. The announcement contained no refund or payout plan, and no wind-down program was ever published; trader complaints about unrefunded fees and unpaid splits were never formally resolved. As of 2026 the domain is parked for sale, and any site describing SurgeTrader in the present tense is outdated content.

Why isn't SurgeTrader in our directory?

Propfirmbook's directory only includes firms we actively verify and track: live challenge pricing across every account size, payout terms and profit splits, complete trading rules, restricted-country lists, and current offers — checked continuously against each firm's own site. Firms outside the directory haven't been through that process, so we can't vouch for their current terms or operations.

Frequently asked questions

Why did SurgeTrader shut down?

It lost its replacement trading-platform license in April 2024 — its second platform loss that year — and announced same-day closure on May 24, 2024.

Is SurgeTrader coming back?

No. The domain is parked for sale and there has been no relaunch or rebrand.

Can I recover money from SurgeTrader?

No official process exists. Be wary of "fund recovery" services claiming they can trace SurgeTrader funds — that pattern targets victims of collapsed firms.

A note on 'fund recovery' services: companies that contact traders of collapsed prop firms claiming they can recover lost funds are a well-documented follow-up scam. No legitimate recovery process exists outside official channels or formal insolvency proceedings.
