Trading Rules
Weekend & Overnight Holding
Allowed on every program, in both evaluation and funded phases
Profit Split
80% on all programs by default, rising to 90% after qualifying for the Scaling Plan. On Orion Zero, trades opened or closed within 5 minutes of a high-impact news event are rewarded at 50% instead of 80% — a per-trade penalty, not the program's split.
Max Leverage
Up to 1:100 on New Gen programs; some account types limited to 1:20
Consistency Rule (Best Day)
20% on Orion Zero, and on Orion Nova once funded — your best profit day cannot exceed 20% of total cycle profit before you can request a reward. No Best Day Rule on the Nova evaluation, or on Standard, Swing or Select at all.
News Trading
No timing restrictions during any evaluation phase. On funded accounts: Nova, Standard and Select have a 2-minute restricted window before and after high-impact events; Swing has no restrictions; Zero permits it but trades opened or closed within 5 minutes of an event are rewarded at a 50% split instead of 80%. News trading as a strategy is prohibited on every program and phase.
Minimum Trading Days
4 during the evaluation on Standard, Swing and Select. None on Zero or Nova. No minimum on any funded account.
Drawdown Type
Trailing Lock on Zero and Nova (trails up, locks permanently at the starting balance). Static on Standard, Swing and Select.
Daily Loss
3% on Zero and Standard. Nova: 4% on evaluation, 3% funded. Swing and Select: 5%.
Max Drawdown
6% on Zero and Standard. Nova: 8% evaluation, 5% funded. Swing: 8%. Select: 5%.
Trading Strategies
Any strategy not listed in Orion's Forbidden Trading Practices is allowed. Prohibited categories: exploiting the simulated environment (price errors, data-feed advantages, latency gaps) and risk patterns designed to game metrics rather than reflect real trading.
Payouts
Every 14 days. First request 14 days after the funded account is activated, in profit and with no open positions. Trading is paused while a request is under review.
