Alpha Futures has confirmed that its partnership with NinjaTrader — and with it the Tradovate platform — ended on 12 July 2026. The firm can no longer issue new accounts on either platform. Separately, Alpha Futures is closing its Premium Plan entirely and refunding all active Premium accounts, including pending payouts. Accounts on the Zero, Advanced and Direct plans are unaffected and are being migrated to AlphaTrader, the firm's in-house platform.
In a statement published on its official X account on 12 July, Alpha Futures said the two companies had been in discussions for around three months and could not reach agreement on two points: integrating AlphaTrader with NinjaTrader's back end, and NinjaTrader's concerns over whether Alpha Futures would promote both platforms equally now that it operates a competing platform of its own. Alpha Futures said the decision to terminate was NinjaTrader's, that it took effect on 12 July, and that it respected the decision.
NinjaTrader has not published a public statement at the time of writing. The account above is Alpha Futures' own, and NinjaTrader's reasoning has not been independently confirmed.
Alpha Futures said it is closing every active Premium Plan account and refunding the fee, including pending and unpaid payouts on that plan. The firm attributed the decision to the plan's economics, stating it had paid out more than $25 million on the Premium Plan alone over the preceding two months while running it at a significant loss, and that most Premium accounts sat on Tradovate — so losing that platform made an already loss-making plan unviable. The firm described launching the plan as a mistake. Alpha Futures also stated it has paid out more than $100 million in CFDs and more than $100 million in futures. Those figures are the firm's own and are not independently audited.
Zero, Advanced and Direct accounts continue to operate. Existing Zero, Advanced and Direct accounts on NinjaTrader or Tradovate are being migrated to AlphaTrader during the week of 13 July. The firm says it is returning to same-day payouts.
- You can no longer open a new Alpha Futures account on NinjaTrader or Tradovate. Those platforms are off the table for new customers as of 12 July.
- The Premium Plan is gone. If you hold one, Alpha Futures says the account will be closed and your money refunded — including any payout you were still waiting on.
- Zero, Advanced and Direct accounts still work. They are being moved onto AlphaTrader, the firm's own platform, during the week of 13 July.
Alpha Futures launched AlphaTrader earlier in 2026. The split follows a wider pattern in prop trading, where firms have moved from renting third-party infrastructure toward operating platforms they own. That reduces dependence on external providers, but puts firms into direct competition with the vendors they previously relied on — the tension at the centre of this dispute. Whether the trade-off favours traders is not settled: in-house platforms give a firm more control over execution, pricing and payouts, but they also mean a trader's charting and order routing are run by the same company that decides whether they pass an evaluation.
This section is descriptive, not advice.
If you hold a Premium Plan account, Alpha Futures says it will be closed and refunded, including any pending payout. Confirm the refund directly with the firm's support rather than relying on third-party reporting.
If you hold a Zero, Advanced or Direct account on NinjaTrader or Tradovate, the firm says your account moves to AlphaTrader this week.
If you were planning to buy an Alpha Futures evaluation specifically to trade on NinjaTrader or Tradovate, that option no longer exists.
